JVA - Teaching Volleyball Skills " a piece by piece"

JVA is a family owned organization formed in 2022 motivated by the athletes and their parents in the community that already had taken privates classes with present day directors, Coach Elena Berroteran and Coach Freddy Berroteran. Elena and Freddy prove to be successful coaches with quick improvement in their players, as well as their innovative training philosophy.

The leading inspiration for creating JVA was to provide an academy where the youth and high school players can count on quality training coming from coaches with professional experience. Both Elena and Freddy, dedicated many years throughout their long volleyball career to serve time on the Venezuela National Team as players. This influential experience provided the opportunity to learn from national and international coaches giving them the elite knowledge and resources to give back to the sport of volleyball; sharing that knowledge by teaching the fundamentals and proper technique to all performance levels, through coaching.

The passion, love and vocation that Coach Elena and Coach Freddy reflect for this sport, was transmitted by their parents. It is for this reason that we chose the name, «Jardines Volleyball Academy» in recognition of the club «Los Jardines» founded by Elena and Freddy’s father in 1968 in Caracas, Venezuela. This prestigious academy has currently contributed to the training of high-level athletes who have represented their state and their country, providing opportunity for players to obtain scholarships in the United States and other countries. «Los Jardines» has also positively impacted the community by transforming the youth through the sport of volleyball. All players established strong characteristics such as determination for success, discipline, and a “teamwork” mentality, which would carry through to adulthood. Coaches Elena and Freddy are prime examples, thanks to the hard work and extensive knowledge of their parents who were their first coaches and mentors in the sport of volleyball. Elena and Freddy were able to reach the highest level of competitiveness by being members of the national and university teams but also representing their country, Venezuela at international events

MRF

To JVA, the love for volleyball is crucial. Our main goal is to be a positive example to our athletes transmitting our good energy and the passion we have for this sport. Commitment, respect, dedication, responsibility, and the love for the game are only a few of the attributes of our training that we hope to pass on and develop equally within our athletes.
